England is more than 11 men kicking a ball.

England may not have won the penalty shoot-out against Italy but she gave the word Sir Isaac Newton, William Shakespeare, Michael Faraday, the Industrial Revolution, the jet engine (Frank Whittle), and more recently Tim Berners Lee who created the Graphic User Interface that became known as the World Wide Web and gave it to the world for free. And out of the three big vaccines (Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna) the AstraZeneca is by far the cheapest.

England was the first to make education compulsory, the first to stop child labour, the first to create a police force and one of the first to create a free health service. You also invented the aircraft carrier and the tank. And if it hadn't been for the sacrifice that so many of your forefathers made, all of Europe would be speaking German.

So pardon me but you guys have a lot to be proud of. Let's not forget tennis, cricket, rugby and of course football.

Besides, these Euros were just a practice session for next year's World Cup.

we lost our mojo in the second half. Cost us the game. I don't blame the penalty takers. That,s not bringing it home

I think it was weird though how the 2 players picked by Gareth purely on their penalty taking ability both missed their penalty kick !
Good game otherwise .

'Who cares about a Trophy? Southgate, Rashford & all the team restored faith in an England that cares about children and fairness. That’s what matters.' -TP

They did that certainly but it could /should have been better. The Penalty shootout should be banned imo. Do what they do in Rugby .1/2 hour extra time then sudden death score !.

What a load of bunkum.
Fairness in football, ha ha ha, what a lovely sentiment.
This aint line dancing ffs.
I rather suspect, denmarks defence, dont see it like that after sterlings dive.
Fair play to the danish team for making a stand on slavery in qatar.
Id like to see the england team bring this issue to the fore.

Oswestrian, for england manager.
Remove southgate, install, oswestrian.
A speech like that, the players would walk out feeling ten foot tall.

If only they were as good at winning as they were at taking the knee.

To be quite honest, I'm glad it's finally over. I couldn't take much more of this overconfident, smug-like, circle-jerk from the media over an International football club who i haven't cared about since the late nineties.

There's something that needs to be stated. If one of the teams involved in a penalty shoot-out also happens to be the team representing the country that is hosting the match, you had better believe that they are going to feel the pressure a lot more than the other team.
