Can we claim to have democracy when Tommy Robinson gets arrested again?

In the UK we all have a right to free speech and protest.

Tommy Robinson is nasty small minded man but he's got the same rights as the rest of us.

I'm alarm to see he's been arrested again this time under the Terrorism Act 2000 after a march in London on Sat.

Are we all so frighten of this man and his views we need to jail him for bad words and thoughts?

How does a totalitarian state attempt to make citizens obey its rules?

How do totalitarian states attempt to make citizens obey its rules? Through indoctrination, propaganda, and censorship. Control of mass media and of education is essential. Totalitarian states may also use terror or violence to control citizens.

The totalitarian state is here. It was brought on a wave of "wokeness" and all of us fell for it.

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

In the UK we all have a right to free speech

A common misunderstanding, the law imposes limitations to balance free speech against other rights and societal interests, meaning speech can be restricted in cases of incitement to violence, hate speech, or defamation so we don't have free speech.

but we do have freedom of expression...

1: Free Speech:
Free speech primarily refers to the legal right to express one's opinions without censorship or restraint from the government.

2: Freedom of Expression:
Freedom of expression encompasses a broader range of communicative acts beyond mere speech, including visual art, media, literature, and other forms of artistic expression.

protected under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights which was incorporated into UK law through the Human Rights Act 1998.

USA also has so called free speech under their First amendment but with the same woke limitations & restrictions on hate speech.
My view is sticks & stones.
