The day after that landslide victory for the Tories, the very next day! they were out in central London protesting with their banners and slogans. One banner read 'Get the Tories out' I just thought wtf? we've just had a general election! What are these people on?!

Who provides all these professionally made banners in such a short time frame? It’s not a great stretch of the imagination to realise all this is planned by a certain group, one well funded by the Corbynistas.
Fortunately that old saying, ‘If you’re not a socialist at 25 you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at 40 you have no head”, still stands true.

We need a vaccine. That is the only thing that will bring back normality and instigate some immunity. Without a vaccine this could just continue.
I agree

Will a full lockdown halt the spread of infection? No, i don't think it will. The reassuring thing that I've noticed compared to when this virus first revealed its ugly head is that the severity of the virus seems to be dying down, which i think are positive signs. We shouldn't be complacent because of this though.

Of course we need to keep doing what we're doing, through social distancing, wearing face masks in public places that require them, keeping ourselves active through plenty of exercise and eating healthier, and using common sense by keeping ourselves clean by wiping down surfaces with sprays and trying to avoid large crowd gatherings.

Nah we need to stop worrying about it.
Look at Japan, they have all the bars, restaurants, stadiums open already.
The government in Japan is even paying towards holidays to get the hospitality and tourism business' back on track.
Most places are fully booked well into 2021.

I don’t normally go into detail online, but I chose to read this thread instead of listening to my daughters saxophone lesson (which in turn makes me question if I should continue paying for her saxophone lessons)....

  1. To try and highlight a division within the uk by referencing an area as a tribe is at best showing an ignorant and archaic mindset, at worst showing you’re belief some people are better than others. Either way you are not showing yourself in the best light; be better than that.
  2. Grammar Pedantry Syndrome doesn’t directly affect physical health, but it could affect one’s psychological state. If you feel a compulsion to correct others use of language, you really should speak with your therapist; or consider a job in proof reading. In a friendly online setting it may appear you have a superiority complex or are just unkind.

Masks offer some protection to others from you, as we have evolved we have lost the ability to think about others and how to protect the weak and vulnerable. It’s really sad, we could all do better.

Regarding the virus; it’s new, it’s scary and it’s a pandemic. In the same way Ebola changed West Africa, COVID-19 will change the way of the world.

Will a further lockdown stop the virus? No.

Will it slow the virus whilst a vaccine is being worked on? Yes.

Was a second wave expected across Europe? Yes.

Hugs and kisses to all

My therapist is illiterate, proof reading is a consideration but no religious nonsense please, I DO have a superiority complex, and I AM just unkind.

If it wasn't for the inbuilt Forum grammar correction and spellchecker, you would probably witness a surfeit of illiteracy from this chatter.
I, for one, would never employ him as a proof reader.
He probably makes a good dogsbody, however.

The "severity of Cvid coming down depends where you are in the country I think south seems pretty safe for now ,but like good ppl they are are going into tightening of the belt same as rest of us.

It nice that people can come and still read forums and add to them no matter how long they been here, [ some people have to go work cant sit in chat site all day and night ]
