There are 3 types of law.
Ceremonial law which looked forward to the coming of the Messiah.Which ended when Jesus arrived.
Civil law which was for living in Israel at the time.Which no longer applies as the old world bears no comparison with today's society and cannot be followed.
Moral law,which are direct commandments from God which must be obeyed at all times as it reveals the nature and will of God.Jesus obeyed the moral law completely.
In a nutshell a lot of laws were specifically for the israelites apart from the commandments which are for everyone and still apply.Jesus freed man from old ceremonial and civil laws but not from the commandments.
