Did you mean to ask "can" blind people be racist. As for white ppl suffering racism, definitely yes although generally it tends to be minorities and women that get most of the izums. My opinion ; racism or sexism or/and hatred towards the latter stems from personal issues the individual is having possibly stress, money issues, relationship issues etc..its just an easy and convenient way to vent that frustration. Doesn't take much thinking to want to hate someone.

Genuine question, I'm curious about peoples take on this question, I've had some heated debates about this recently with persons of other ethnicity.

They basically said NO you can't be racist towards white people because they are not oppressed like people of colour.

Of course white people CAN suffer racism, but if you want to know to what extent white people DO suffer racism (in the UK), just see who pulls out the "Oh, here (s)he goes again, pulling out the race card" line. It's invariably white people.

In other words, white people don't like racism being called out, claiming that's it's exaggerated. If white people were suffering it to any substantial degree, they wouldn't downplay it. I'm aware that non-whites can be racist too, but they aren't the ones that decry it being called out.

Also, you know full well what you're doing with this 'curiosity'.

It's 'All Lives Matter' by any other name. Crass.

Are white people a race.. yes.. hence they can experience racism.
However, the problem lies much deeper than simple semantics.

In Germany circa 1932 Aryan was a race, was it white, yes, but was it all inclusive of white, no.
How many Poles, Jews, Romani and even so called "Sick" Germans died as a result of Racial based Socialism.

After the 1917 Revolution in Russia were the Russian people immune from racial genocide.
In Russia, how many Kulaks, Romani, Jews, Russians died of class based Socialism (even though Kulaks were a class not a race they were deemed as such).

I wont touch the whole Africa issue as people tend to get bent out of shape when the African leaders apologise for slavery as they were just as responsible as anyone else, go look it up for yourselves.

Take a look back in history at racism throughout history, it is ALWAYS worse than it is today.
From the Bible, through the Roman Empire, into the last 500 years of strife, sorrow and pain.
Racism has been cause for war and genocide.
To say today that racism is a problem is to create a political notion, to make someone a victim of oppression.
Is racism a problem today, yes but a minor one, it always will be so.
Does no one get that by being racist in a company you may refuse to hire the best person for the job based on your racial prejudice, it works both ways.
Is racism systemic and all encompassing that it governs our lives, no, unless you allow it to.

Simply because someone feels offended because one comments on their race is not a reason to control speech, otherwise one can never discuss why racism exists.

Does racism exist, yes.
Is it limited to White people, no but the argument is strongest in white dominated societies.
When you have an majority population of a certain race, everything else is different.. we in the west are better at seeing beyond colour than most others believe it or not.

Visit Japan or Saudi Arabia if you want to see.

Anyone see the carry-on at the game the other night? The coaching staff, 1 of them is going to be sent off, so the ref asks the 4th official which one should he send off. How should he identify him as he doesn't know their names and they aren't wearing numbers, other than the black one?
If it were the other way round and there were 5 black coaches and 1 white one, he would have said “the white one”... what else could he say?

This thread has some interesting input so i'll go easy ,

What a ridiculous question , did you really sit there and think that through ?

I find the fact that you didn't know the answer is slightly racist and worrying ,

If you are a grown adult in 2020 and you can sit there "unsure" of what racism means then it is no wonder it's still an issue.

Sorry just my view ......

I give you Diana Abbot and David Lammy. 2 of the most racist people this country has ever known.

Read about this and others ,

I have read comments on this thread etc that state " It is more in white communities rather than black etc ,

It isn't it is everywhere ,

It should never matter what colour somebodies skin is no matter who you are or where you are.

It is that simple !

Don't apologise for your view. These racist cunts, who try and bait others using a question like this or similar.

Snivelling cowards. Snowflake whiners. Every one of them.

If only it was that SIMPLE. For instance inequality is wrong, but so is the media bandwagon-jumping we are currently being blasted with. We are demonised for having an opinion now. Take the Millwall fans booing when the team took a knee, the outcry want deafening. It seems it’s ok to have an opinion providing it conforms to the media leftist narrative. The fact that the Millwall fans only did what most football fans would like to do, is ignored by the press. People are sick and tired being made yo feel guilty for being white.

Poco, has anyone ever told you that "Colour Blindness" i.e. not giving a sh** about colour is actually racist lol
It apparently means "You don't understand (insert given race here)'s lived experience".
It is a simple trick.
I could ask you to imagine being blind, you would close your eyes or put on a blindfold.
I could ask you to do it for a day, a week, a year, you could imagine that.
Can I ask you to be (insert given race).
Nope.... because your not.
Thats where the fallacy lies, I may as well ask you to be a redhead (which maybe you are) or a blonde.
But because you can't be "One of them" you have to accept their opinions, no matter how out there?
I mean really.. BLM can be as much Blonde Lives Matter as Black.
Blackface and hair dye have more in common than we thought :)

Oh and please, will all those ladies wearing nail varnish stop culturally appropriating the poor Egyptians, they invented it. ;)

Being colour blind, might have simply meant not seeing people as a colour, seeing the person, what makes the person. Depends in what context it was intended.

Thats why I still love MLK's
“Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think.”
